The Formula 1 World Championship has already everything ready and set to start its fifth round of the calendar at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. Before opening the throttle, the single-seaters will take a rest tomorrow in the paddock, which is filled with the colours of the World Championship teams. However, the drivers, despite not getting onto the track, will have a busy agenda with different activities that will bring them closer to the fans.
From 16.00h, the stage of the Fan Zone, located behind the Main Grandstand, will be welcoming all of the participants of the premier class. It will be the location of the autograph signing session until 18.00h. A unique chance to have the stars of the World Championship closer than ever before and share special moments to be remembered. The Pit Lane Walkabout (16.00 – 18.30h) will take place as usual, to walk around the pit lane and watch the single-seaters before they start to run.
While these two activities are being held, there will also be a karting exhibition on the main straight of the circuit, with children taking part in the Open RACC programme, to promote future generations of race drivers. The young talents will be showing their abilities under the watchful eye of some of the F1 drivers, who will be able to share advice and anecdotes with them. Spectators will be able to witness everything that is happening from the Main Grandstand of Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.
On Thursday at 15.00h some of the drivers will attend the press conference to offer their feelings ahead of a weekend that is expected to be very evenly-matched and thrilling. Under normal conditions, there are 6 drivers able to fight for the victory, but nothing is said and done at the Circuit, and good proof of it are the 10 different winners of the Spanish Grand Prix in the past 11 years. The only driver able to repeat the victory has been Lewis Hamilton, who arrives at the Circuit on top of the World Championship standings.
