The FORMULA 1 PIRELLI GRAN PREMIO DE ESPAÑA 2022 is already a reality for thousands of fans who have purchased their tickets to attend the sixth round of the FIA Formula One World Championship (20-22 May). So much so, that yesterday Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya hung the ‘sold out‘ sign late in the afternoon.
After the 2020 edition at the Circuit, which was held behind closed doors, plus the 2021 edition, to which only 1,000 Circuit members had access, it seems that motor racing fans are more eager than ever to see the Grand Prix up close. In addition, two home drivers – Fernando Alonso and Carlos Sainz – will be present at the track again, something that has not happened since 2018.
Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya is already working to offer solutions to the public, expanding the original capacity of the grandstands in order to be able to accommodate more fans. More details will be announced soon. There is no doubt that the FORMULA 1 PIRELLI GRAN PREMIO DE ESPAÑA 2022 will be a great party for thousands of motor racing fans to enjoy.
Josep Lluís Santamaría, general manager: “We are very happy to be able to welcome the public again with full capacity at the Circuit after two years without them. Moreover, in terms of sport, this year will be very exciting with the two home drivers and the novelties brought by the new single-seater. We are finalising all the preparations at the facilities to hold an event of worldwide reference. Therefore, we would like to thank all the fans who have placed their trust in the Circuit and we encourage them to travel to the event in the most sustainable way possible, using the different public transport options that we will make available to them. We want the FORMULA 1 PIRELLI GRAN PREMIO DE ESPAÑA 2022 to be a party and for everyone to be able to enjoy Formula 1 at the Circuit”.
