New mobility and access plan at the Circuit for F1

New mobility and access plan at the Circuit for the FORMULA 1 ARAMCO GRAN PREMIO DE ESPAÑA 2024

The Circuit has been working hard to adjust the new system already implemented for MotoGP, which will make it easier for the public to access the Circuit with new operation for those travelling by private vehicle, a new parking system and a reinforced public transport programme with a free shuttle bus from Montmeló station.

Formula 1

For the FORMULA 1 ARAMCO GRAN PREMIO DE ESPAÑA 2024, Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya is implementing a series of changes in the field of mobility and access to the sports venue in order to improve the flow of traffic, especially for private vehicles during the peak hours of the event.

PRIVATE VEHICLES – NEW PARKING AND ACCESS SYSTEM

Public car park with online purchase

This year, the public car park is divided into 4 zones: A, B, C and D. Moreover, you can purchase parking online from a new platform and without the need for stickers. Therefore, it is imperative to provide the number plate of the car for its subsequent identification at the Circuit car parks, as to gain entry a camera will need to read the number plate. The number plate can be changed or added at a later date if it is not known at the time of purchase. Users will receive instructions by e-mail about how to get to the Circuit according to the car park assigned at purchase.

It is important to follow these indications and not those of GPS navigators to avoid blocked accesses or traffic jams. We must also point out that it will not be possible to access the Circuit perimeter in a private vehicle without having previously purchased parking. Regardless of the assigned parking zone, it will also be possible to access through any Circuit gate and reach any zone on foot.

Public parking for motorbikes and bicycles

Motorbikes are parked free of charge and do not need to carry out any payment or procedure. There will also be free bicycle parking at the Rotonda del Péndulo (Verneda del Congost, next to the Viena restaurant).

Traffic device

In order to speed up the entry of vehicles to the Circuit, access to the venue will be reinforced on roads such as the AP7, the C17 and the C35 with constant controls to guide car park users, staff and other groups, preventing entry and diverting the traffic of those who do not have parking accreditation or personal accreditation for the event. It is important to note that each group may have a different recommended access route and that, if the traffic situation requires it, officers may redirect users to a different route or car park than the one purchased. When exiting the grounds, all roads will lead away from the track, preventing vehicles from entering.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT – NEW FREE SERVICES

Free shuttle bus service from Montmeló station to the Circuit

As always, the Circuit recommends that racegoers use public transport. For the occasion, both Rodalies de Catalunya and Sagalés will be offering their services with a wide range of options that can be consulted here. In order to reinforce and encourage the use of public transport, the Circuit will provide a free bus service from Montmeló station to the track. This bus will have two departure points, one from the station exit and the other from Plaça Ernest Lluch. It will pass by Gates 6 and 7 and return to the station.

For departure from the Circuit at the end of the day’s events, these buses will also be available and will leave from the Rotonda del Péndulo roundabout (near Gate 3) and from another point next to Gate 6. The return journey to Montmeló station will operate until 6:00 pm.
