A few days before saying goodbye to 2017, the Catalan racetrack has made assessment of the year and has also launched 2018 the sporting calendar, which includes some significant novelties.

87% Occupation

There have been a total 318 days of activity, which led to an occupation of 87%. On 247 of these days, the facilities were rented and 71 were dedicated to the staging of races. There was no activity on the track on only 17 days, and 30 days were dedicated to building works. During this year, the sporting facilities have been host to private and group tests (cars, motorcycles and bicycles), driving courses, incentive and training days, as well as different events.

565,550 Spectators

A total of 565,550 spectators came out to the Circuit during 2017. The highest attendance figure were the 177,984 spectators that got together on the four days of the FORMULA 1 GRAN PREMIO DE ESPAÑA PIRELLI 2017, 94,623 on Sunday. This is the result of more than 1,800 pieces of news published about topics dealing with the Circuit and its activities; as opposed to the 700 pieces published in 2016.

19 sports events for 2018

With a calendar made-up of 19 sports events, the circuit is one of the few racetracks to host three rounds of top level, renowned World Championships: Fórmula 1, MotoGP™ and Rallycross. As a novelty in the 2018 calendar, and in addition to these three great meetings, there will be the Ferrari Challenge and two MotoGP™ test days in May. Other events not to be missed in the calendar are the Formula One Test Days, –the circuit being once again host to all of the Formula 1 preseason tests and one test during the season–, the Spirit of Montjïc, the Barcelona Speed Festival or the traditional 24 Horas de Catalunya de Motociclismo motorcycling endurance race and the 24 Horas de Barcelona de Automovilismo-Trofeo Fermí Vélez car endurance race, amongst many others.
