Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya is pleased to continue increasing the number of distinctions in terms of sustainability progressively and with constant work. This time, the sports venue has been awarded with the Safe Travels stamp by the World Travel Tourism Council (WTTC).
Turisme de Barcelona, as the managing body of the Safe Travels safety and health stamp by the WTTC, has been in charge of awarding this recognition to the Circuit, placing it as a distinguished company in the tourism sector as regards the Commitment to Tourism Sustainability Destination Barcelona.
Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya continues being recognised as a tour operator that commits to a responsible and respectful management, which has also implemented an exhaustive contingency plan that includes major measures to mitigate the spreading of the SARS-CoV-2 virus and to ensure the safety of all parties implied in the activity of the World Championship racetrack.
Among the measures taken, there are the use of facial recognition by means of artificial intelligence at the access gates of the Circuit, as well as body temperature control. The Circuit staff and staff from different sectors involved in the performance of the sports events undergo PCR and antigen tests, and the cleaning and disinfection procedures have been intensified.
In this same sense, Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya received the Commitment to Tourism Sustainability Barcelona Biosphere Award in May, as a recognition to the attachment shown by the facility in its commitment to sustainable and responsible tourism.
