The special programming of public transport provided on the occasion of the FORMULA 1 GRAN PREMIO DE ESPAÑA PIRELLI 2017 makes it easier, more comfortable and sustainable to travel to Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. The Circuit encourages all fans to come out to enjoy the Grand Prix using public transport, with different options that reinforce the service in order to adapt to the needs of a large dimension event like Formula 1:
By train
Renfe reinforces the services of Line R2 North of the commuter train service Cercanías de Catalunya with 46,000 additional seats. There will be a special programming for 13 and 14 May that provides for a travel frequency of every 15 minutes for the Montmeló – Barcelona connection at those times at which a larger number of travellers between these two stations is expected. Renfe has reinforced their service with 42 special trains, 24 direction Montmeló and 18 return trains to Barcelona. Of these additional trains, 21 will travel on Saturday and 21 on Sunday, and are added to the usual offer of Line R2 North (Airport – Barcelona – Montmeló – Maçanet).
These additional trains for the Formula 1 Grand Prix will be added to Renfe’s standard offer for Montmeló on weekends (74 daily trains, 37 in each direction, totalling 81,400 daily seats).
Moreover, travellers arriving by long distance AVE trains at the Sants train station will have connections to Montmeló with Line R2, the price of which will be included in their combined ticket.
Once at the Montmeló train station, there are different ways to get to the Circuit: with a shuttle service, by taxi or a 30-minute walk (www.renfe.com).

By bus
Autocares Sagalés is also offering service to get to the FORMULA 1 GRAN PREMIO DE ESPAÑA PIRELLI 2017. The busses will depart from the Barcelona city centre, i.e. from the North Bus Station (Estación de Autobuses del Norte, Calle Ali Bei, 80) platforms 25, 26 and 27. This location allows for a connection with the underground service (Metro) and Commuter trains (Cercanías Renfe), as the Station is located next to Arc de Triomf. The tickets cost 12 Euros and are booked at Sagalés (tel. +34 902 13 00 14 and www.sagales.com).
In order to minimise the environmental impact of the Grand Prix, Sagalés will provide 25% of the service with sustainable busses. The route to and from Barcelona will be made with Euro6 and Euro5 busses, which are much less polluting, while the transfers from the Montmeló station to the Circuit will be made with hybrid busses. Thus they are joining the commitment to sustainability that Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya took on many years ago with the ISO 14001 certification.
On Saturday and Sunday there will also be 3 sustainable mini-busses (Euro 6) offering service with stops at the Accreditation Centre and all of the Gates except Gate 5.
In addition to these public transport options, there are also other alternatives:
> By bicycle: The Circuit encourages all fans to come out to the Grand Prix enjoying the different bicycle routes. On Sunday 14, once at the racetrack, bicyclists will have a free guarded parking place at Gate 6 in the South Area. All cyclists parking their bikes there will receive water on their arrival and an invitation to come and lap at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya during the BiCircuit cycle days.
> Optimising the seats in private vehicles: Should there be the need to travel by private transport, the Circuit recommends optimising the use of the seats available in the vehicle.
