Although this year’s FORMULA 1 ARAMCO GRAN PREMIO DE ESPAÑA 2020 will be facing several significant changes as a consequence of the current situation, Formula 1 and Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya wanted to give fans the feeling that they continue to be part of the world championship’s history at the Barcelona racetrack.
The FORMULA 1 ARAMCO GRAN PREMIO DE ESPAÑA 2020 has planned a set of actions aimed at and for all fans. Some of them have already taken place and many others are yet to come. And there are obviously initiatives involving the only local representative in the premier class, Carlos Sainz.
If only a few days ago the Madrid-born driver faced his most challenging press conference, led by the questions provided by fans and not by journalists; fans again have the chance to play an active role. The Circuit has asked fans for their participation to give the local driver an extra boost. Carlos Sainz will be surprised by the home-made videos that will make him feel the strong support of his followers.
One of the classic actions at the Spanish Grand Prix has always been the autograph session with the drivers. Well, this year, there will be a Meet&Greet session as well, but virtual, organised by Formula 1. A fortunate few, randomly chosen among the fans that were already holding tickets for the Grand Prix, will have the chance to meet their idols and have a chat with them. They will also be able to receive merchandise that has been signed by the drivers. The teams taking part in this action will be Ferrari, McLaren, Racing Point, Alpha Tauri and Haas, both on Thursday 13 and on Saturday 15 August.
Last but not least, one of the most iconic elements of the world of racing, the chequered flag, will come into play. Fans will have the chance to see their names on one of the flag’s squares. Some of them will be auctioned and others will be given away to fans who have funny or interesting stories related to the Spanish GP.
