Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya (Montmeló)- Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya has donated more than one thousand kilogram food to the social dining room El Xiprer, a foundation that helps people in most need and that also operates as food bank. The initiative is carried out within the framework of the campaign “No Food Waste”.
The Catalan racetrack collected the food that is usually wasted without having been used before the end of a large event, such as the F1 Test Days, to give it a destination. During the two weeks that the World Championship has been at the Circuit in order to prepare the season, all teams of the grid were willing to make their donation, as did Pirelli, official tyre supplier. The result has been more than satisfying, as the Circuit was able to collect more kilograms of food than last year.
With the motto “No Food Waste” and since 2016, Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya has been carrying out this initiative throughout the year, collecting food during the F1 GRAN PREMIO DE ESPAÑA and the Gran Premi Monster Energy de Catalunya de MotoGP. The Circuit, which holds the environmental ISO 14001 certificate since 2008, continues to be committed to improving its environmental performance and to reduce the impact of the events in many different ways.
