The most international edition of 24h SimRacing

The most international edition of Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya’s 24h SimRacing is about to arrive

Fans will be able to follow the event via streaming in Catalan on the website of the Esport3 TV channel and in Spanish and English on Youtube and Twitch.

24 Horas de Automovilismo

In 2018, Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya organised its first virtual endurance race, an event which marked a turning point in simracing: it was the first competition to be held in parallel to a real 24h race in the same venue. This year, due to the pandemic, the 24H of Barcelona – Trofeo Fermí Vélez had to be cancelled, but the Circuit keeps the staging of the 24h SimRacing.

The first weekend in September, 5 and 6, are the dates of the 3rd edition of this virtual endurance race. As opposed to the previous years, this time, the race will be held 100% online, meaning that the teams and commentators are not going to be located in the Montjuïc Club at the Circuit.

This will provide for a more international version of the event, as it is expected that teams from abroad will be able to take part without having to travel to Barcelona. Moreover, the race will be broadcasted via streaming in YouTube and Twitch with commentaries in English in addition to Spanish, so that it may be followed from more countries. As a novelty, the event will be broadcasted with commentaries in Catalan through the website of the Esport3 TV channel.

Entries already open

All teams interested in participating in the 24h SimRacing 2020 can submit their entry request online now at www.24hsimracing.com. Just like last year, the race will be made with iRacing, a simulator that was used for the first time at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in August 2019.

The teams must be made up of at least 3 and a maximum of 4 drivers. The regulations, both for the pre-qualifying and the race, are available on the website.

The entries will be closed on Thursday 27 August at 23:59h.

Pre-Qualifying

From Friday 28 to Sunday 30 August, all entered teams must take part in the pre-qualifying session to get one of the 24 places available on the grid. The pre-qualifying will be performed in a time attack format.

The race will have a few wildcard places available for teams made-up of professional drivers or, for example, for the winning team of the previous edition.
