Little by little, Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya is discovering the main attractions of its 2021 season, filling out the gaps in the sports calendar. Today, it was the turn of the MOTUL FIM World Superbike Championship.
On 17, 18 and 19 September, the world championship track will be staging the second edition of the Catalunya WorldSBK Round. Today, the FIM and Dorna, holder of the championship’s rights, confirmed the dates of the complete 2021 season. The Barcelona round will be the seventh of a total of 13 rounds to be staged in 2021.
After the success of the first edition, in which Jonathan Rea and Chaz Davies stepped on the highest step of the podium in each of the races held, we will have to wait and see who will be the riders in charge of continue writing history in one of the youngest events of the series, but which intends to be a classic round of the WorldSBK, the Catalunya round.
Next year, Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya will also have the honour of being the venue of the Supported Test, four days of testing before the start of the season, namely from 29 March to 1 April.
