The Gran Premi Monster Energy de Catalunya de MotoGP™ is starting to reveal some of its attractions with only one week left for the official start at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. The seventh round of the FIM MotoGP™ World Championship promises to provide for non-stop fun on the three Grand-Prix-days. From 14 to 16 June, the riders on the track won’t be the only ones playing the leading roles at the Circuit. All those attending will be able to enjoy the complete experience with a long list of activities for all audiences.
As usual, the Circuit is offering the most diverse proposals. The most popular attractions among the regular Grand Prix attendants will be back. Starting with the Pit Lane Walkabout on Friday 14 June from 16.45 to 18.15h, during which the fans will not only have the chance to walk along one of the most restricted areas during a race, but also have a closer look at the pit garages of all participants of the World Championship, as well as some of the main figures of the weekend.
The GP Lap will be back for the most daring fans. On Saturday afternoon, all motorbike riders will have the unique chance to make two laps around the track only a few hours after the MotoGP™, Moto2™ and Moto3™ riders and one day before the staging of the Gran Premi Monster Energy de Catalunya. A total of 500 riders will be able to live the experience of lapping on the world championship track on their own motorbike. Registrations are available at the RACC website (https://www.racc.es/sorteo-vueltas-gp).
The activities at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya will have different nerve centres. One of them is the Monster Zone in the area of the forest and the former heliport, with proposals that include a relax area, a photocall simulating a podium to share unique memories with friends, a terrace with unmatched views and an area to refresh yourself.
On the three days of the event, the Family Village will offer fun and entertainment in equal parts. Located behind the Main Grandstand, in the commercial area of the Circuit, the family space will be offering non-stop activity. From Friday to Sunday there will be trampolines, inflatables, face-painting and creative workshops, games… The kids’ area has also a care service with different monitors. Older fans do also have their special space in the Family Village: a chill-out area, live music with DJ, food trucks and a lot more.
Behind Grandstand B and next to the former heliport, there will be the KISS Barcelona stand. All spectators visiting the stand will receive a cloth for their motorbikes sponsored by Sirsa with the collaboration of Arpe, which has been produced after a circular economy process, from the recovery of towels. The aim of this stand is to raise awareness about the importance of education committed to sustainability.
The Montjuïc Club will be host to a photography exhibition commemorating the 30 years of Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya and El 9 Nou. A journey through the history of more than three decades during which the Circuit played the leading role on the pages of the Vallés Oriental edition of the popular newspaper. Editors and photographers of El 9 Nou modestly contributed to show both in written press and the Internet, the history of a circuit which is essential to understand the world of motorsports in Catalonia, Spain and Europe, for more than thirty years.
Thus, there will be commitment to the environment, adrenaline, and fun, in addition to rhythm and happiness, since all public areas will be enlivened with the performances of different groups of drummers, as well as human towers to show the popular Catalan culture.
To top off the Gran Premi Monster Energy de Catalunya there will be the Open Track. Fans will have the chance to access the track after the three races of the world championship, to experience the celebration in the heart of the action.
