New Mobility and Access Plan to the Circuit

New Mobility and Access Plan to the Circuit for the Gran Premi Monster Energy de Catalunya of MotoGP

The Circuit has worked hard to develop a new system that will make the access to the Circuit easier for the attendants with new mobility devices in vehicles, a new parking system and a public transport schedule reinforced with a free bus from the Montmeló station.

MotoGP

Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya will implement for the Gran Premi Monster Energy de Catalunya de MotoGP™ a set of changes in the field of mobility and access to the venue in order to improve the flow of traffic, especially for private vehicles during the peak hours of the event.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT – NEW FREE SERVICES

Free shuttle bus service from Montmeló Station to the Circuit

As always, the Circuit recommends the use of public transport to reach its facilities. For the occasion, both Renfe and Sagalés will offer a wide range of services. In order to reinforce and encourage the use of public transport, the Circuit will provide a free bus service from Montmeló Station to the track. This bus will have two starting points, one from the station exit and the other one from the Repsol petrol station at the Montmeló exit. The route will go through gates 6, 7, 1 and 2 and will return to the station.

Shuttle bus service around the Circuit gates

It is important to differentiate the Station Bus from the Perimeter Bus, which will only pass through gates 6, 7, 1 and 2, also free of charge, to transport the attendants from the public parking area to the aforementioned gates. It is important to point out that attendees may access through any of the gates of the Circuit regardless of the General Admission or Grandstand area they are going to.

Train offer (Renfe)

On 25 and 26 May, Renfe will offer a total of 28,000 additional seats. This special schedule includes the running of 19 special trains in each direction, 6 trains on Saturday and 13 on Sunday, on the R2 line of Rodalies de Catalunya (Castelldefels – Granollers Centre).

To facilitate the mobility of the fans, Renfe will increase the usual offer on Sunday, between 07:30 a.m. and 12:00 (noon) to get to the circuit, and from 3:20 p.m. for the return from Montmeló. The established schedule ensures an average frequency of 15 minutes each way on the Montmeló-Barcelona connection at the times when the largest crowds are expected. To facilitate and speed up the purchase of tickets, Renfe has programmed the ticket machines so that the first ticket to appear on the screen is a return ticket to Montmeló.

Bus offer (Sagalés)

Autocares Sagalés also offers its services to attend the Grand Prix. The buses will leave from Barcelona city centre, from the North Bus Station (Estació de Nord, C/Ali Bei, 80). This location allows connection with the Renfe metro and Cercanías services, as the station is located next to Arc de Triomf. The ticket price is €25.

The service will be available from 8:00 a.m. on all three days of the event, departing every 20 minutes on Friday, every 10 minutes on Saturday and every 5 minutes on Sunday. Bookings can be made at Sagalés (tel. 902 13 00 14 / www.sagales.com). These buses also leave from the coast of Barcelona (specifically from Lloret de Mar), and pass through several towns up to the Circuit, arriving in front of the Sorli Discau supermarket (Saturday and Sunday service). The ticket price is €35.

PRIVATE VEHICLE – NEW PARKING AND ACCESS SYSTEM

Public car park with online purchase

This year, the public car park is divided into 4 zones: A, B, C and D. Moreover, it is purchased online on a new platform, without the need for stickers or anything similar. However, for this very reason, it is imperative to provide the car number plate for its subsequent identification at the Circuit car parks. The number plate can be modified or added later if it is not known at the time of purchase. Users will receive instructions by e-mail on how to get to the Circuit according to the car park purchased. Motorbikes are parked free of charge and no purchase or action is required.

It is important to follow these instructions and not those of the GPS navigators in order to avoid blocked accesses or traffic jams. It is also necessary to point out that it will not be possible to access the Circuit perimeter with a private vehicle without having made this parking purchase. Also, regardless of the assigned parking area, it will be possible to access through any gate and there will be a free Perimeter Bus to go through gates 6, 7, 1 and 2.

Traffic arrangements

In order to speed up the entry of vehicles to the Circuit, the access to the venue will be reinforced on roads such as AP7, C17 and C35 with constant controls to guide parking users, staff and other groups, preventing the entry and diverting the traffic of those who do not have parking accreditation or personal accreditation for the event. It is important to note that each group may have a different recommended access route. For the exit, all roads will have the function of evacuating the sports venue, preventing vehicles from entering it. The exit operation will be activated on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. and on Sunday at 2:00 p.m.
