From 15 to 17 November, Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya will host the Motul Solidarity Grand Prix of Barcelona, the proceeds of which will be donated to the victims of the flash flood that affected Valencia. The Catalan Ministry of Business and Labour has agreed to make the Circuit available to the company promoting the World Championship to organise the Grand Prix, which will have a solidarity character and will pay tribute to the victims of the flash flood, their friends and relatives.
The MotoGP™ Grand Prix, which was due to be held in Valencia, was cancelled due to the effects of the flash flood. Dorna Sports asked the Catalan Government to be able to organise the Grand Prix in Catalonia, which will basically have a component of remembrance of the victims and those affected, and of material aid for the recovery of the effects caused by the floods.
After analysing the proposal submitted and with the agreement of the Valencian authorities, it has been accepted that the Circuit will host the Grand Prix. The Grand Prix has been renamed as the Motul Solidarity Grand Prix of Barcelona and will be aimed at paying tribute and remembrance to the victims, and providing material aid to those affected by the floods.
Further details of the event and the initiatives that will take place, as well as information for fans wishing to follow the final round of the MotoGP™ World Championship, will be available soon.
