The F1® Test Days welcomed the most varied groups of visitors. During the eight test days of the F1 World Championship preseason staged at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, nearly 1000 schoolchildren and 600 people with a disability from different centres came out to visit the facilities.
Following the agreement signed between the General Secretariat of Sport and the Circuit in 2017, the schools that form part of the Catalan Sports Plan had the chance to make a tour around the sports facilities for the third year in a row. Smiles and races: this is what we were able to see in the paddock of the Circuit, with hundreds of youngsters eager to meet one of their idols. The Catalan track continues to be committed to bringing the world of motor sports closer to the younger fans, with the aim of contributing to their personal and civic education with values, such as tolerance, respect towards others and towards rules, the trust in oneself or self-improvement. A total of 20 schools enjoyed the sun, the good atmosphere and the activity on the track, with nearly 1000 schoolchildren.
Likewise, the Circuit did also sign an agreement with the Department of Social Welfare and Family of the Catalan Government, in 2017, to perform several social actions. In this edition of the F1® Test Days, nearly 600 people with a disability saw the world championship track fully operational, grouped into the 41 visiting centres from all over Catalonia. A unique opportunity to get to know the clockwork of the Circuit, with the best drivers in it. Moreover, this year there were 20 centres and 200 people more than in 2018.
Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya has also a plan of educational tours which provides for a wide and detailed view of how a sports event works, with contents, themes and activities adapted to each level.
